I never heard such a misinformed rant that has so much backward thinking.
The “self-entitled” are the elite who have financed political campaigns of BOTH parties who have tilted the table with legislation, written by corporate lobbyists, who finance the campaigns of the politicians that the voter votes for, thinking they will represent “WE, THE PEOPLE…!!
And as this pattern has progressed over the last thirty years, we have seen the deterioration of the once contented “middle class” who could put their kids through college, have a vacation once a year, and maybe buy a new car every two or three years and, Oh,… by the way, have friggin health care so they don’t lose their homes paying for cancer treatment!
Instead we see escalating tuitions, jobs shipped overseas, plant and manufacturing closures, and TAX BREAKS FOR THE FRICKIN WEALTHY and Social Security and Medicare CUTS!
AND we saw a transfer of overwhelming wealth, manipulated by banks and WALL STREET, illegal home foreclosures and robo-signings, and NOT ONE arrest!!
and WE, THE TAXPAYER, bailed them out to continue to steal MORE!!??
Carolla is as ignorant as they come for what is happening in his own country.

Almost 50% of California’s income taxes come from the top 1% of earners. God, that’s depressing.
In New York, the percentage is now 41%, up from 25% in 1994. In Connecticut and New Jersey, the top 1% pay more than 40%.

What gets to me about the old “1% of the population pays 50% taxes” canard is they never mention what percent of the wages they are earning. Is it outrageous for 1% of the population to pay 50% of the taxes if they are earning 45-50% of the wages?

You do know there is a difference between truth and opinion, don’t you? I agree with some of what Corolla said, not because it was true, but because his opinion is similar to mine in some respect. There are facts in this world. It is not a fact or a truth that giving kids participation trophies leads them to believe they deserve credit for something they did not earn. It is an opinion that I tend to agree with, but it is not true. Dig a little deeper Cyn de Harven.
